As we begin, I know a few of you will never have taken a distance class before.  I know there are many moving parts to this class…and they are on different platforms because ASDEC is a teacher training center and our website is not set up like a university’s would be.  We are an independent IMSLEC accredited training center.  We use available on line vehicles which are relatively easy to access.

For video content, you will login to the ASDEC website using the password for the “landing page” for this class.

You will find links to the course videos- both the instructional videos and participant demonstration videos, the blog and the course dropbox.    Access the MSM 1 Class Videos first. You will need the password give in the welcome letter you received by email.  It is the same for all videos and the course dropbox of resources and documents.
Enter the course specific password you were sent as you access each video.  You may watch whenever you choose, repeat, pause to take notes, rewind and watch again.  The access to videos is limited to prevent sharing of login information but you should have ample access for what you need. You may watch, pause, take notes and watch again.

This is one of the advantages of the distance class.  Though you do not share in the immediacy of the on-site live class, you will be able to pause and reflect, to take notes and ponder.  This class is known for the application of explicit, content specific instructional language which often goes quickly in a live class.

You will also access this blog for class updates and explorations of work with students.  You may comment, ask questions or  share.

The other portal you will eventually access is the class dropbox of resources.  Look for that information in the next few days. Enjoy.
